In 1980, Barbour produced its first lightweight short jacket, the Bedale. Originally designed for riding, the Bedale is a favorite of many Britons, from royalty to pop icons.

Dame Margaret Barbour designed the Bedale with equestrian practicality in mind, with a shorter length, relaxed fit, rear vents and the essential internal nylon "drip" that provided resistance to the horses' moisture seeping into the jacket. Crafted from midweight 6oz waxed cotton and fully interactive with optional zippered thermal liners and hoods, the Bedale is a brilliant jacket for year-round use.

The classic elements of a Barbour jacket are all included, with a two-way brass ring zip and studded 'Stormfly' front, two large bellows pockets and two moleskin lined handwarmer pockets, and the traditional corduroy collar studded for hidden protection. throat flap.
